Multicam in Storylines
Multiple cameras on one moment: how groups, angles, and offsets fit together.
A multicam group is a set of sources that recorded the same moment — an interview's A and B cams, a stage wide plus a close-up. Grouping them tells Storylines these are angles of one take, not separate clips, which unlocks:
- One transcript, many pictures — cut from the conversation once, then choose which camera shows each line
- Angle switching per segment, with sync handled for you
- A group card on the canvas showing the angles together, with an active-angle picker for preview
The glue is the sync offset: each angle's clock relative to a reference camera (camera B started 2.5s later → offset 2.5). Offsets come free with import in most cases — see sync at import — and can always be set or corrected manually.
You can also create a group by hand: select the source cards → right-click → ⧉ Create multicam.
